Tech Roadmaps

Technology roadmaps let a tech manager explain and show the team's work to others. They help multiple peer teams collaborate, reviewing the "big picture" work going on so that risks and opportunities can be identified in ways only possible when there are many sets of eyes looking at the map. Roadmaps are not project plans! They help the team focus, explain to non-technical peers the work being done, and let the team talk about long-term plans and changes as short-term goals or strategic needs evolve. Like taking a long trip without a map, a technical manager and their team will often get lost without a roadmap to guide them each month, quarter, and year.
